Welcome!
This is our inaugural issue of Romero
Britto's monthly enewsletter Inside
Britto.
This is an exciting opportunity for
us to present Romero's most recent work
before it's exhibited to the public, as
well as provide you with behind the scenes
information and invitations to exclusive
gatherings.
The newest works being completed in the
studio are simply stated, fun! That is to
say there is a large amount of playfulness
evident in the style and subject matter.
But for this first issue of Inside Britto
I want to talk about one of the most
recent and new favorite of mine, a nighttime
surfer named "Francis Mary".
|
Not
a lot of people know that "Francis
Mary" is the name of the
daughter Romero has always dreamed
of and in this work she comes
to life as a surfer…
Many of our collectors often ask us
"How does Romero continuously
create joyful works without becoming
redundant or (eek!) stale?" Let’s
face it –like anything important
to us, an emotional connection will
be made - art should make us feel.
Name:
Francis Mary
Type: Original
Dimensions: 36x60
Material: Acrylic on canvas

What is so important about Romero’s
art is that it can make us feel a multitude
of feelings that will inspire you: fun,
silly, amusing, enchanting, charming, pleasing,
comical, zestful, whimsical, serene, decadent
(oh, yeah!), fresh, fanciful, delightful,
sweet, etc.
"Francis Mary" for example
is obviously experiencing a passion in
her life – maybe it’s a
secret passion?
Whatever it is, the feelings are strong
– the night, the ocean, is it a source
of power? Can you feel the thrill?
Is it a source of power? The night, the
ocean?
The red surfboard might make us think so;
at least it does to me. Does the darkness
of night add to the thrill, can you
feel the chills?
As the water laps against her ankles, is
she feeling for the tide? Waiting for that
one perfect wave- that one perfect
wave.
Depending on your mood, "Francis
Mary" may be a reminder for patience.
Something like, good things coming to
those how wait.
Then again, she inspires me to go after
my desires - to go for the challenges we
seek.
Our nighttime surfer reminds us also of
simple pleasures and of harmony with
nature, of perfect balance.
Can you smell the salt air in the rich aqua
and green waves, I can? But not always...
I sometimes look at it as I'm leaving the
gallery and feel the same wind that
blows through her hair.
It reminds me of the cool nights and
light breezes here in South Beach. Maybe
I’ll take a walk down Lincoln Road
before going home tonight…
Certainly, for "Francis Mary",
night surfing is not simply exercise!
Fortunately, a "happy" artistic
style can embrace numerous emotions that
are universal. As such, a Britto will captivate
our senses and lend itself to the entire
atmosphere of a room.
I can see it hanging in the living room
of the summer beach house as well
as in my daughter's room... reminding
her that anything is possible. Our working
studio is infused with this energy.
I encourage you to visit Britto
Central and experience a personalized
tour and to see "Francis Mary"
firsthand.
For Romero, any subject can be joyful. The
opportunity to share that joy and know that
it is uniquely translated for each of us
keeps his art alive. How does the emotion
translate for you? Let me know click
