Miami Dade Transit - "Informing People On the Go"
Challenge: Miami Dade Transit (MDT) is responsible for the People's Transportation Plan (PTP). Under the PTP’s $17 billion dollar business plan, Miami-Dade County commits to adding more buses and routes, improving service, expanding rapid transit, and creating thousands of transportation and construction-related jobs over the next 25 years. MDT wanted to show that stake-holders for this project were achieving their goals, timelines were being met, and progress was taking place according to schedule.

Loop designed an online communications plan using an email marketing platform to distribute current stories and news to targeted constituents who needed this information the most, while at the same time achieving the mandate set forth by the program.
Analysis: Through our research, we established the online behavioral data for MDT’s target audience. We mapped internal information production to create detailed publishing schedules using content generated by MDT.
Solutions: PTP is a dedicated funding source exclusively for the improvement of transportation in Miami-Dade County. We created and delivered the “Go Miami-Dade” communications program to increase information distribution, timeliness, and to provide the targeted audience with reporting on current events on programs like Golden Passport, Free Metromover Service, and 24-hour Metrobus Service. The delivery of information via the email marketing campaign allowed Miami-Dade County and the PTP program to enjoy an important cost savings, and to meet the requirement to deliver timely information to a targeted audience.

Performance: The overall cost savings is projected to be $60,000 for the two years that the program has been in place.
